Spring Photos Happenings DDC 2016

With the most successful "A Gift for Emma" ever in our "rear view mirror," DDC is primed for quite an exciting dance year!  Coming first, in the Youth American Grand Prix Ballet Competition, and we have two young ladies competing--Miss Vanessa Baker (age 13), and Miss Annie Rose (age 15)!  They have been working with Ms. Lisa, Mr. Matt, and guest coach, Ms. Kihyoung Choi on their classical ballet variations since last February!  Both dancers will perform their solos in front of world reknown ballet professionals January 29-31, and take master classes too!  Good luck ladies--we are so proud to have you represent DDC throughout the metroplex!

And just a week later, we welcome back Mr. Thom Clower (See Master Classes in the Menu) to teach his Winter Ballet Intensive from February 8-12, for Intermediate-Advanced ballet levels!  This year marks Mr. Clower's 14th visit to Denton to work with our dancers and we are so looking forward to seeing him! He is also going to be working extensively with 8 of our dancers to set choreography on them that will be used to adjudicate for Regional Dance America next fall!

And just a few weeks later on Feb 26-28, several of our dancers as well as some faculty members will be attending the Joe Tremaine Convention to study with industry professionals in Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Ballet and Tap from Los Angeles and New York!

The week after Spring Break is tech week for COLLAGE 2016: Denton Dance Festival!  Our resident dance company, Denton City Contemporary Ballet, will host 7 additional dance companies in this 23rd dance festival (the first festival was in 1992).  Be sure to come see our company members perform in downtown Denton at the Campus Theatre on March 25 & 26, at 8pm.

And finally, check out our new Beginning Aerial Silks 6-Week Session starting April 2nd (Saturdays from 11am-12noon) for ages 12 and up! More info to come!
