FB Cvr News Emma 2016

Now in it's 18th year of production, the Denton City Contemporary Ballet & Denton Dance Conservatory join forces once again to bring you "A GIFT FOR EMMA!" This is a heart-warming story of a young orphan girl who wishes, beyond everything else, to be a dancer. When she is blown into the dance studio by the powerful Arctic Wind, she encounters a world where all of her favorite toys dance! As she enters "The Garden of Dreams," she meets beautiful butterflies, scary spiders, faeries & pixies! Her Guardian Angel leads her across "The Sea of Miracles," through waves, seaweed, past Mermaids, Jellyfish, and even Poseidon himself! She finally arrives at the "Palace of the Snow Princess," where she wishes upon a star, and receives the Gift of Dance! Ms. Racina-Torre has combined the delight & joy of the holiday season with the wondrous imaginings of her childhood in this FANTASY IN DANCE FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY!

This year's guest artists include Mr. Chris Koehl, originally from Garland, former DDC Hip Hop instructor, and most famously, a former finalist on the Fox TV series, "So You Think You Can Dance." Ms. Lea Zablocki (Dallas NeoClassical Ballet, Mejia Ballet International), and Ruben Gerding (OU, TCU, Texas Ballet Theatre), will be performing the roles of Poseidon and his Sea Maiden as well as the Snow King & Queen. This year the role of the Seaweed will be performed by former DDC Alum and DCCB dancers, Becky Acton, Hannah Briggs, Catlyn Carr, and Jasmine Morris! All of these dancers are members of the Cholorock Dance Collective here in Denton.
